In celebration of our new green-design, high school, the Wellesley Green Schools and Wellesley Trails Committee are co-sponsoring GoSmart week May 14- 18. Its geared to encourage all Wellesley High School students to reduce carbon emissions by walking, biking, or taking the bus to school, in the run up to Turn on the Lights official opening. Participating students can enter a daily prize draw for items from Wellesley sports merchants such as a backpack from City Sports, running shoes from Marathon, a kryptonite bike lock from Thunder and gift certificates from Landrys Bicycles and from Whole Foods. Whats more, thanks to a generous donation from the Wellesley Trails Committee and Landrys, on Friday, May 18th, all names entered in each daily draw will go into a grand prize draw for a new TREK commuter bicycle, fully equipped with rack, panniers, water bottle holders, kickstand, lock and helmet. The Wellesley Trails Committee has provided trail maps in the Wellesley Townsman and on bulletin boards around the school. On May 14th, to kick off the week, Landry's Bicycles will provide free bike tune-ups from 7-9 a.m. outside the school. Don't forget to Go Smart!
